More About Meg, the Person

I love to tell people that my hospitable nature stems from my exposure to authentic southern hospitality. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana and raised in New Orleans, I believe my small bayou town roots and my adolescence spent in a melting pot city are what make me interested and adaptable when it comes to diverse cultures. I get a thrill out of being able to relate to all different kinds of people. I guess this is why people tend to open up to me quickly... I make them feel safe and they know someone is sincerely listening when they talk to me.

I've lived in Texas since 2003. Despite my bond with Cajun Country and the history of St. Charles Street, I know that I belong right where I am. The experience I've gained and the success I've been a part of as a professional in Texas make me grateful for the hand I was dealt. So, in 2012 I decided to lay down new roots. After ten years of renting in DFW (Irving, Dallas, Addison, Plano...) I bought a home in Frisco.

I enjoy working on my home with do-it-yourself projects in my spare time. In fact, after people telling me time and time again that I should have my own website so others can learn from my projects, I went ahead and built a site of tutorials for home improvements, interior design, curb appeal, etc. This is where you surmise that I don't do anything half way or halfheartedly. You would be right! There is something fantastically rewarding about completing or conquering a challenge with results to show.

When I'm not painting my ceiling or sewing curtains for my home, I'm all smiles with my Australian Shepherd named Meadow. She keeps me active OUTSIDE of the house with her infinite energy and reminds me of what blind devotion looks like with her unwavering love and loyalty.
